Ryan Boatright is a senior in the Liberal Arts Honors Program at The University of Texas at El Paso, majoring in political science with a minor in legal reasoning. Boatright served as president of the UTEP Student Government Association, where he created a free meal program projected to provide more than 8,000 meals to students. He also served as chair of The University of Texas System Student Advisory Council, where he developed a proposal for the UT System Board of Regents to fund basic-needs initiatives across all UT institutions. He was awarded the Hawkins Scholarship, a prestigious campus scholarship, in recognition of his academic achievement and leadership. Off campus, Boatright has spent more than two years interning with a member of Congress, the Texas State Senate, and two county commissioners. After graduation, Boatright plans to pursue a career that combines economics, public policy, and service to his community.
