Yamile Ramos-Cruz is a senior at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, double-majoring in political science and economics with a minor in marketing. She is passionate about international trade because she grew up on the U.S.-Mexico border. On campus, she worked as a marketing specialist at the Center for Student Involvement, creating community events such as Picnic at the Lawn. She has also collaborated with other departments to create content across social media channels to engage students and foster a student community. During her undergraduate studies, Ramos-Cruz participated in a study abroad program in London, where she took a class on cultural marketing. She was also part of the Vackar Student Scholar Program, completing research on the value of mentorship. After graduation, Ramo-Cruz plans to pursue a career in public relations.
