Biography
A senior at the University of Texas at Austin, Amanda Aguirre is double majoring in Government and Sociology with an interdisciplinary concentration in social inequality and health policy. Amanda has interned with Austin Voices for Education and Youth, a local Austin non-profit organization that advocates equality in the Austin School District. Amanda helped create the School Inequities Project, identifying disparities in resources in order to enhance opportunities for the community’s high school students. She has also completed an Internship with the Children’s Defense Fund, doing Health Outreach in South West Houston. While in D.C., she will be interning with the White House's Office of Public Engagement / Intergovernmental Affairs.
