Alberto André Altamirano is a junior at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government with a minor in Economics. He was a Moreno/Rangel Legislative Fellow with the Mexican American Legislative Caucus during the 82nd Texas legislative session, during which he interned in the office of State Representative Joe Farias, D-San Antonio, TX. That same year he worked as the Campus Manager at the University of Texas Pan-American for Bill White’s Texas Governor campaign. He also served as the President of the UTPA Young Democrats, and he is an active participant of the Hidalgo County Young Democrats. He has a strong passion for U.S. Foreign Policy, immigration reform, education, leadership studies, and Mexican politics.
