Biography

Sterling Hill, a junior at the University of Texas at Austin, is majoring in Business Honors, Finance, with a focus on government and will graduate in the Spring of 2013. While his interest is in public service and policy, he has been able to learn and grow from a business perspective. He has worked on projects ranging from revitalizing a local high school’s budget to creating a customer feedback program for a local technology start-up. Furthermore, Sterling has a passion for education reform and currently serves as the finance and policy director for UT Students For Education Reform where he hopes to bring the public education “achievement gap” and inequalities to light for all UT students. Sterling interned with State Senator Kirk Watson during the 82nd Texas Legislative Session which encouraged him to move up to the “big leagues” in Washington. He is especially interested in fiscal policy and improving efficiency in Washington from the business side of government.
