Emily Nasir is a senior in the Honors College at The University of Texas at San Antonio where she is majoring in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies. While at UT San Antonio, Emily participated in several organizations that demonstrated her commitment to service, leadership, and integrity such as the Ambassadors of UTSA, Be A Responsible Roadrunner, and the university newspaper “The Paisano”. As Public Relations officer of the Health Ambassadors, Emily provided San Antonio residents and disabled young adults with free medical screenings through the American Diabetes Association and the Methodist Mission Home. To assist her goal of becoming a lawyer, Emily participated in the UTSA Summer Law School Preparation Academy where she earned a Certificate of Legal Reasoning and was awarded the Ray Coleman Jr. Scholarship for Top First Year Student. Emily credits her passion for international relations and human rights advocacy to her time studying abroad in Australia and her Palestinian background. As an Archer fellow this spring, Emily looks forward to interning with the United Nations Information Center.
