Jose Camacho is a junior at the University of Texas at San Antonio majoring in Economics. He plans to graduate from UTSA with Highest Honors, Business Honors, Leadership Honors, and International Distinction. Due to his interest in worldwide affairs, he received a scholarship from the College of Business to study abroad in China in the summer of 2012. With his busy schedule, Jose held numerous leadership roles in the field of economics; he co-founded and served as President of the National Association for Business Economics, facilitated collaborative study groups as a Supplemental Instructor for Introductory Macroeconomics, and is a member of the American Economic Association and Econometric Society. Jose has been a UTSA Alumni Association Scholar since 2011 and was recently awarded the USAA Foundation Scholarship. While in Washington, D.C., Jose will be interning with the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.
