Biography

Kelly is a senior at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Public Health Policy and Management with a minor in Business. Her activities on and off campus have focused on raising diabetes awareness and other public health issues such as cancer prevention. Kelly served as the President of Hook the Cure, a student organization dedicated to promoting diabetes awareness through organizing an annual conference on campus, connecting students to research opportunities, and volunteering with a local non-profit endocrinology clinic committed to providing high quality care to under and uninsured diabetics in East Austin. In the summer of 2011, she cycled from Austin, TX to Anchorage, AK with Texas 4000, an organization that brings hope, knowledge, and charity to the fight against cancer and fundraised a dollar for each of the 4,500 miles of the ride. She hopes to work on reducing health inequalities within the US and abroad in her public health career.
