Lisa Newman is a junior at the University of Texas at Austin, where she is majoring in Government with a minor in Philosophy and will receive a certificate in Core Texts and Ideas. During her time at UT Austin, she has served as executive editor of the newly founded Texas Undergraduate Law Review, an organization designed to encourage undergraduate students to pursue their passion through scholarly and academic research. She also worked to foster better student-faculty relationships during her time as the Faculty Affairs Committee Chair in Senate of College Councils. She is an active member of her sorority, Delta Gamma, where she passionately works with the students at Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. In addition to her on-campus involvement, she was a legislative intern for Senator Mike Jackson. She is currently working for the Segura Criminal Defense Firm after her involvement with the University of Texas School of Law, Criminal Defense Clinic. She is excited to intern at the Department of Justice, Federal Programs Branch in the spring.
