Biography
Pavela is a junior Biology major in FAME, a joint-medical program at UTSA and the Health Science Center. On campus, she co-founded HOSA: Future Health Professionals and is involved with UTSA Ambassadors, the university newspaper, and the Peer Mentorship program. For the past two years, she has been researching the handoff process at University Hospital’s Trauma Unit, shadowing at the VA’s Dermatology Clinic, and volunteering at the student-run Dermatology Clinic for the uninsured. Her community work and interests in public service make her excited to intern at the Urban Institute’s Health Policy Center during her time as an Archer Fellow.
