Biography
Ana is a senior at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley pursuing a degrees in psychology and English with minors in Spanish and history. She is also a scholar of the UTRGV Honors College. As a first generation college student, Ana has fostered a passion for education reform, social justice, and educational equity through internships with Breakthrough New York, Uncommon Schools, and IDEA Public Schools. She is also a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas and a member of UTRGV’s Alpha Lambda Delta Chapter, an honor society focusing on achievement and retention of first year college students. Upon graduation, Ana plans to join the Uncommon Schools team as a middle school teacher in Brooklyn, New York.
