Biography
Poonam is a senior at The University of Texas at Austin, majoring in neuroscience. On campus, Poonam works with students through Women in Natural Science, fostering a strong community among young women pursuing science degrees. She is also involved in Texas Nach Baliye, Central Texas Model United Nation, and Gamma Beta Phi. This past semester, she interned with the League of Women Voters of Texas where she developed a program to increase political participation among college students. She is interested in mental health care reform and working to reduce the stigma towards mental illness.
