Emily Stinnett is a junior majoring in international political economy at The University of Texas at Dallas. She has worked for the Office of Sustainability where she created UT Dallas' Ecology-Representative program. During a summer spent in Oaxaca, Mexico, Stinnett volunteered at a micro-lending non-profit for women entrepreneurs called En Vía. Stinnett is passionate about vermiculture, dismantling the patriarchy, exploring sustainable agriculture and environmental justice, and unsustainable institutions and how they affect communities of color and the developing world. In her free time she enjoys playing the clarinet, learning about art and culture, and finding new places to eat vegetarian tacos. In the future, Stinnett wants to work for a nonprofit or advocacy group that works toward greater protection and respect of the environment.
