Aisleen Menezes is a senior at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in political communication and minoring in government and philosophy. Passionate about expanding democratic access and strengthening American elections, Menezes has served as a member of Communication Council, a Texas Civic Ambassador under the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life, and a member of Texas Votes. In these roles, she has worked to educate the public regarding voter registration and systemic issues preventing certain populations from participating in the democratic process. As an Archer fellow, Menezes will be interning for The Democracy Fund, started by the founder of eBay, which invests dollars in organizations that strategically improve democratic access for disenfranchised communities. Menezes hopes to pursue a master’s in economics and eventually attend law school.
