Biography
Carleigh Newland is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in government and theatre performance at The University of Texas at Austin. Her passion is empowering women through storytelling and political activism. She has worked as an advocacy assistant for Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas, a Health Programs intern at The Women's Fund for Health Education and Resiliency, as well as an intern for The Refugee Project in Houston. In 2017, she wrote and directed a play called "A Singularity" which premiered at The University of Texas Cohen New Works Festival and focused on the humanity of refugees.
