Biography
Jose Roman Aguilar Jr. is a current student at The University of Texas at Austin double majoring in computer science and government. Aguilar plans to be an educator, passionate about education equality and youth mentoring. As a mentor for Project Mentoring to Achieve Latino Educational Success (MALES), he works in East Austin schools to help guide boys and young men of color. On campus, he serves his community by being a member of the Texas Blazers and a leader to increase the advancement of Hispanics in STEM through the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. Aguilar plans to one day be a leader in education reform and fix the education pipeline.
