Biography

Julia O'Hanlon is a fourth year student at The University of Texas at Austin studying political communication and humanities with a minor in government. Her humanities thesis focused on documenting the passage and implementation of ethnic studies in Austin Independent School District and their effects on Latinx students. Previously, O'Hanlon has interned for Texas State Senator Kirk Watson (D-14), the Equity Center, and the Children's Defense Fund of Texas, fueling her interest in equity policy and in using communication as a democratizing tool. Post graduation, O'Hanlon plans to remain in Washington, D.C. and work in communications for think tanks and interest groups.
