Biography
Mary Margaret Burniston is a junior at The University of Texas at Austin studying government and humanities honors, with minors in English and creative writing. As a humanities major, Burniston studies the influence of psychology, sociology, and public policy on United States political parties. She works as a sub-team leader and a research affiliate at the Innovations for Peace and Development lab and is a founder at a non-profit seeking to expand rural high school students' access to higher education. She also conducts independent research on topics such as the influence of oil on immigration policy, and social media agenda-setting after mass shootings.
