Biography
Luis Hinojos is a senior at The University of Texas at El Paso, pursuing a dual degree in economics and political science. Hinojos is the founder and president of The Immigration Initiative, a nonprofit that provides legal aid. He has interned in the El Paso District Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Attorney General of Texas. Hinojos is a Terry Scholar, founder of the El Paso Mock Trial Association, and has served in the UTEP Student Government Association. He plans to attend law school and devote himself to public service with attention to addressing the economic and immigration needs of communities along the southern U.S. border.
