Biography

Gaurav Agrawal is a senior in the Liberal Arts Honors program at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in health and society with a minor in business and certificates in pre-health professions and Spanish for pre-health professions. Agrawal maintains diverse interests ranging from languages and music to scientific research and health law and policy. On campus, he was co-founder and co-president of Bee Kind, a non-profit devoted to serving the greater Austin community through community gardens. He has also presided over the UT Austin Liberal Arts Honors Music Ensemble. As part of his undergraduate thesis, Agrawal conducted legal research about the effects of utilization review procedures between HMOs and health insurance plans on health outcomes. Off campus, Agrawal has worked as a volunteer, medical assistant, and research assistant in a variety of settings such as memory care centers, pediatric clinics, and research labs. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in medicine and health advocacy.
