Sara Williams is a senior at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in public relations. She believes it takes skilled and courageous communicators to understand their audience’s needs, reach across partisan lines to take action, and enable communities by translating that policy into meaningful terms for them. Williams has a strong interest in the Deaf community. After her sophomore year of college, she moved to Los Angeles to volunteer full-time in the Deaf community for eighteen months. Through interpreting, educating, serving, and learning from these individuals, she developed a love for the processes that empower communities to truly be heard. Recently, she also worked as a communications support specialist at the Texas School for the Deaf. After graduation, Williams plans to pursue a degree in law, with a special focus in conflict resolution and ADA law.
