Biography

Mark Manickath is a senior at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in biochemistry with a minor in business and a certificate in patients, practitioners, and cultures of care with the Bridging Disciplines Programs. He is one of the directors of Kappa Kappa Dub, a student organization dedicated to helping those struggling with homelessness. During the pandemic, Manickath began working as an EMT helping vaccinate the Austin public. Through his work as an EMT in the ambulance and as a scribe at a local clinic, he has witnessed the downfalls of the healthcare system. Manickath is passionate about reducing racial disparities in healthcare and treating marginalized communities. After graduation, he plans to pursue medical school to become a physician.
