Sophia Baca is a junior in the Liberal Arts Honors Program at The University of Texas at Austin, majoring in international relations and global studies with minors in business administration and Chinese. On campus, Baca has worked as a writer for Texas Global, UT Austin’s International Student and Scholar Services office, and as a writing consultant at the University Writing Center. Additionally, she is a member of the Alpha Phi International Women’s Fraternity. Off campus, Baca served as a legislative aide for State Representative Rafael Anchia (HD-103) and worked as a Sunday School helper at a local church. Baca is most proud of winning the Liberal Arts Honors Envision Austin nonprofit competition, which awarded her $1,000 to launch Teachers’ Pets, a nonprofit aimed at alleviating teacher burdens in Austin-area public schools. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career as a policy analyst.
